Vision Fountain engaged with ex-miners from New Tredegar to create a digital installation to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the closure of Elliot Colliery.

The project celebrates the miner’s contribution to the community of New Tredegar.

Project partners included The White Rose Community & Resource Centre and The Winding House Museum and Caerphilly Council who funded the project through the Fusion initiative.

Workshops have been held with ex-miners and home visits were conducted where audio and visual assets were recorded.

Along with archives, the footage were converted into a 2.5-d space and worked into the timeline of a unique installation.

The installation opened 27th October at the The Winding House Museum and will run for a year.
