Rhondda Digi-Fest22 enabled our team to demonstrate story-telling in a virtual reality environment with a host of primary schools, high schools and youth groups in the Rhondda Valley.

Around a 100 young learners aged from eight to 18 years across a wide range of abilities tried out the virtual reality (VR) mining experience “Pwll Bach Cwm Rhondda”,. The project is designed to engage young learners with heritage.
We learned a lot from the user testing of the BETA version and are analysing the data.
The good news was that the safegaurded portable (neither tethered nor wirelessly connected) experience, we developed with Rhondda Heritage Park / Rhondda Cynon Taff Borough Council, had only 2% crash rate ( even when vigourously used)!
We were also able to meet a host of digital innovators of all sizes from digital education, culture and outreach. Many thanks to People at Work and Coleg – y- Cymoedd. – ends
