The multi-media exhibition Behind the Picket Lines is going to Big Pit 01st March as part of their all day event Was It Worth It: Commemorating the end of the 1984-85 Miners’ Strike.
Along with the Big Pit’s day of talk, music and film and poetry we will be showing the digital installation Behind the Picket Lines.
The 20 minute installation mixes 3D monochrome portraits of miners and their wives with a soundscape that mixes their current reflections and thoughts on the year-long ’84-’85 Strike. The recordings and 3D portraits were made over a five year period and distilled down to 20 emotional minutes. The screenings are free.

We also have the pleasure of of showing Pwll Bach Cym Rhondda which is the first educational virtual reality (VR) mining experience in the U.K. The VR experience, suitable for 10 years and older, enables you to step back in time and experience the fascinating world of Welsh coalmining.
