We are absolutely thrilled to have Wales: A Home from Home pop-up exhibition at Cyfarthfa Castle and Art Gallery all this week. And on Saturday Merthyr residents of global culture will be coming along as part of a special day celebrating the diversity that exists within Merthyr.

Cyfarthfa Castle and Museum in Merthyr Tydfil is hosting the exhibition celebrating Wales’ global cultural connections. The multi-media exhibition features a printed exhibition of portraits and personal quotes along with films exploring Welsh global culture alongside. Along with the moving stories, striking imagery there immersive technology (virtual reality and immersive video) ensuring there is something here for all ages. The stories repreasent they present the voices of Italians, Yemenis, Sikhs, Hindus, Iraqis, Syrians, Ukrainians, Hong Kongers and many others who now call Wales home.

This Saturday, 4th October, people of global heritage and ethnicities, who live in Merthyr will be coming along to share some of their culture with the visitor. It’s a wonderful opportunity to mix with Merthyr residents of global heritage.

We will also be showing virtual reality and immersive 360° video, bringing cutting-edge technology into the museum and art gallery.
