Last week was Edwardsville Primary School’s chance to experience an audio visual workshop at Cyfarthfa Castle Museum and Art Gallery. Over 40 children attended the full day workshop.
They brought in lots of stories that their relatives had told them, they took photographs of one another in costumes related to coal mining, they were taught how to handle delicate heritage items, they drew characters related to their heritage stories and scanned a statue of a classice miner in 3-d.
Below (top) they pose during a break in the 3-d scanning workshop and (2nd bottom) photograph documents in high resolution using a macro lens . And (2nd top) some of the young learners draw images related to the miners strike of ’84/’85. And take photographs in the small portrait studio (bottom).
The project is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund Wales and the Miller Argent Community Fund.
